We started the month off while in the Chicago region. We stopped in to visit one of the WISPs we support then headed back east to get ready for some installs. We kicked off the credit union install in earnest, working mostly after hours to avoid site interruptions and to work with the electricians schedule.
Later in the month we were contacted by family to help with a special project. The church where we were married was having issues with vandals breaking windows. The church wanted some cameras to keep an eye on things. As we did our site survey it was apparent that the entire network needed to be redesigned and updated. The church, like many small town churches, is struggling financially and with membership, so we decided to donate our time and equipment to give them a chance to keep doing the great work they do in their local community (food pantry, support services, fellowship, and more). When completed, they will have a new Ubiquiti network based on a UDM-Pro as their core router and application server, several new Ubiquiti switches, Ubiquiti access points and cameras. The new design calls for 4 cameras outside and 4 access points inside. In addition, we addressed their phone needs with a Ubiquiti Talk solution that is going into place.
We continued in February to help the non-profit in the DC area with some last minute changes and adjustments to their design due to construction challenges they had.
