Welcome to a new year. As we enter into 2023 we are still seeing a major supply chain challenge for many PoE and PHY related chip sets, especially older ones. This seems to affect the lower tier products the hardest (like Ubiquiti and Mikrotik). We are still seeing shortages or delays for Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, and others. Sometimes lasting 4-6 months or more. Industry experts are saying 2024 or 2025 for some normalcy. Maybe.
We started the month with some troubleshooting at a winery in New Jersey. If you are ever in central New Jersey near Atlantic City and would like a nice experience with a great wine maker that is winning medals in every major competition (even beating out the big names), check out Sharott Winery in Hammonton NJ. Larry and his crew make some great wines and have a great place to enjoy a light meal and some good wine. Live entertainment most weekends.
We started two install projects this month. One for a non-profit in the Washington DC area and a credit union head quarters in the Baltimore MD area. Both were Meraki systems. The non-profit included 14 access points and 4 cameras. The credit union was 45 access points. At this point we were just starting, still waiting on supply chain to get its act together!
We wrapped up the month with site surveys for two new projects. One in the Rockford IL area for a point-to-point link about 1 mile long and another in Minneapolis MN at a brewery and taproom.
